You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Your dog is an individual. I study each dog’s unique behaviors and customize my training techniques to accommodate his/her learning style. From energetic puppies to beloved old dogs, I train all ages, stages, and breeds.

My training sessions are structured and focused, but also casual and fun. I call them “walk & trains”, because I take your dog to a park or open space and give them exercise while we work on skill development. My goals in every session are building confidence, exploring the environment, mastering skills, burning energy, and having fun.

I prioritize the skills you want your dog to learn and focus on the behaviors that will benefit you and your pup every day! This always includes the basics: heel, sit, down, come, place, loose leash walking, and being neutral in all environments. I also teach task commands and can work with you on specific ones that you want your dog to learn.

With most dogs, I achieve training objectives using only clear, repetitive communication. Some dogs require physical intervention, and in these cases I use martingale and prong collars, but only with your agreement. I find positive reinforcement to be most effective, rewarding all positive behaviors and responses with frequent small treats.

When your dog is in my care, I never walk them with any other dogs unless that is something you specifically want to work on. If your dog is reactive, I will keep them under threshold so no reactions happen and will treat positive associations with triggers. I never allow your dog off-leash or meet other dogs on leash. And when people ask to pet your dog, I politely decline. I always carry a dog first aid kit and am certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid.

I will train your dog with clarity, consistency, and love.

For walk & train sessions, I recommend alternating sessions – one session with just your dog and me, followed by the next session with your dog, you, and me to review skills and commands.

There are no long-term commitments or pricey packages. We set training goals together and schedule sessions to achieve those goals.

45-minute walk & train sessions are:

$65 each for 3-7 sessions per week
(or $75 each for 1-2 sessions per week)

My fee includes the time for driving to your home, as well as any additional time needed to drive your dog to a comfortable walking location.
